The HR Director must be an experienced professional with deep knowledge of all matters concerning HR departments.  This position will manage programs and lead staff day-to-day while also possessing a strong strategic mindset.

  • Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements and advising management on needed actions.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in conferences and educational opportunities, reading professional publications and participating in professional organizations.

Human Resources Director Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field required
  • 7+ years’ experience in a human resources department
  • 3+ years’ experience in a HR leadership position
  • Strong understanding on the interviewing process, benefits administration, payroll and other HR functions
  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-SCP or SHRM-CP certification a plus

The position requires a skilled communicator, systems thinker, analytical problem solver, and excellent time manager.  Responsibilities also include overnight and weekend on-call, budget formulation and procurement.

Candidates should possess:

  • Associate’s Degree in a related program, preferably a Bachelor’s Degree,
  • 3-5 years of supervisory level experience in building services in a large nursing or assisted living facility, multi-dwelling  housing complex, hotel or college campus,
  • Certification as a Certified Healthcare Facility Manager preferred,
  • Proficiency with MS Office, spreadsheets and computerized building automation systems (BAS),
  • Able to read and understand construction drawings,
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements
